Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the art and science of healing that addresses the mind, body and spirit. The needle placement is crucial to its success and can benefit the physical and energetic aspects of the body.
This specific form of alternative medicine originated in China approximately 2,500 years ago and is regarded as an effective treatment for many health conditions and is widely practised around the world still to this day. Theoretically, it is based on the belief that life energy, called Qi (pronounced "chi"), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians.
These meridians meet at certain points on the body, referred to as acupoints. Injury, illness or emotional distress can block the free flow of Qi along these meridians, causing pain or illness. The main aim of Acupuncture is to move the Qi within this system and clear blockages.

What can I expect from Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine whereby fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.
An initial acupuncture session usually lasts anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour and will always involve an initial assessment of your general health, medical history and a physical examination.
Courses of treatment often involve several separate sessions, but this can vary on a case by case basis.
Everyone holds the key to their own healing powers, but sometimes the body could use a little extra help. So whether you are experiencing pain or want to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, acupuncture is a great way to help. Our qualified Acupuncturist will work with you to restore your balance and find your centre.
